I saw a shark while diving at 30m off the Shetlands. That was 20 years ago. My buddy and I agreed it was most likely a blue shark after comparing tail shape with pictures in a fish book. They have always reached there due to the Gulf stream, just ask the trawlers. More confirmed sightings are probably due to more people out in boats, more cameras and more ways to blab about them. No need to blame it on global warming.
