Go to Edit Channel next to your name click on Channel Design

Did you go down to Advanced Design Customization?

Was it in the second box, or Background Image (URL)?

Got to Edit Channel next to your name click on Channel Design go down to Advanced Design Customization and the second box is Background Image (URL). Copy the link of a picture, from a search engine, and paste it in that box.
