Eu tenho a alma e o sangue negro também, e amo essa música, muita bem escrita e musicada pelo mestre Jorge Ben (não sei por quê, mas prefiro mil vezes só este nome, não gosto do Jor, acho que é por conta da sua fase mais criativa, que foi nos anos 60 e 70), para mim ele poderia ter sido somente Jorge Ben, mas vai entender... Eu dedico essa canção a todos os amantes de soul music, música black e aos negros, é claro, que ajudaram a construir o nosso país...

Elvis recorded it September 22, 1962 at Radio Recorders. It is available on the It Happened At The World's Fair soundtrack and Command Performances-The Essentials 60s Masters II, which is where this verion is from. An alternate take is available on Today, Tomorrow and Forever.
The single had a 4-week stay on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, peaking at #53.
It Happened At The World's Fair was released in 1963 and it was Elvis's 12th film. It was produced by Ted Richmond and directed by Norman Taurog. Elvis's co-stars were Joan O'Brien, Gary Lockwood, Vicky Tiu, and H. M. Wynant. It was ranked #55 in Variety's list of top-grossing films for 1963; it grossed $2.25 million for the year. Elvis' character is named Mike Edwards.

It Happened At The World's Fair was filmed at the World's Fair in Seattle, WA in 1962. Fair exhibits included in the film are Monorail Ride, Skyride, Dream Car Exhibit, Bell Telephone Exhibit; Floating Filipino Building, Space Needle, and Space Needle Restaurant. There were 100 special policemen to protect Elvis from the Fair crowds while filming. Six Pinkerton plainsclothes detectives were at his side every second he wasn't filming. Trivia from movie: Elvis's co-star Gary Lockwood also appeared with Elvis in Wild in the Country.
Elvis dated Yvonne Craig while shooting this film. She had a small part in the beginning of the film. She also co-starred with Elvis in Kissin' Cousins. She later went on to play Barbara Gordon during the 1967-68 TV season of Batman.
Kurt Russell plays the "boy who kicks Elvis" in the film, and he does kick Elvis in the shin when Elvis pays him to do it.
