Four military trophies hunters dig out old battlefields looking for World War II medals, documents and arms to sell. It is a profitable, but dangerous business. One night, something weird begins to happen: they meet a pale barefoot guy, who asks them "Where are our guys?" and vanishes without a trace, and then they find the old personal soldiers' books, belonging to the killed soldiers with their own photographs in them. Trying to "wash out" these weird incidents, they jump into a lake and... find themselves in the year 1942, in the middle of the fierce battles.

On June 21, 1941 junior lieutenant Bourov returns from his leave of absence to his place of service - frontier post in Western Belorussia. At the daybreak on June 22, the Germans invade the USSR. The border guards are the first to engage in fighting with the fascist invaders. Only two men survive - Bourov and his subordinate Karpenyuk. The Germans rapidly advance eastward. Finding themselves in the enemy's rear, Bourov decides to continue guarding the country's borders and fight the enemy to the end all alone.

Lieutenant Alexei Kartash is transferred to serve as a guard to a prison-camp in Siberia for having an affair with his superior's daughter. Accidentally, he finds out that there is a mystic place near the camp, where people disappear without a trace. Kartash decides to solve the mystery of that deadly place and discovers another labor camp among the swamps, where enslaved people work in the mines under the armed surveillance. He realizes that he is trapped in the deadly game, but there is no way back.
