This is a clip of GM's new 2009 Cadillac CTS-V around the Nurburgring Nordschleife in Germany. Piloting the super fast luxury sports sedan is John Heinricy, who is General Motor's Performance Division Executive and a former professional race car driver. This brings the Cadillac CTS-V in an exclusive sub 8 minutes club exclusively for super exotic supercars and hypercars.
Equipped with GM's LSA engine (related to the ZR1's LS9 engine) producing 563hp and 550 lbs/ft of torque, the CTS-V astonishingly ran the ring at 7 minutes and 59.32 seconds, making it the fastest production luxury sports sedan ever on the ring. Faster than its main competitors: the new BMW M5 Twin-Turbo, Audi RS6, and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.
The car was completely stock, with stock tires, and with no modifications to the engine, suspension, or electronics. A harness bar, fire extinguisher kit, and a 6 point safety harness belt was equipped to prioritize the driver's safety, as well as several cameras mounted on the car, which added on weight. The CTS-V they used was the 6-speed automatic version.

This is a clip of the SSC Ultimate Aero's official record run in the state of Washington. On September 13, 2007, SSC managed 257.41 mph (414.31 km/hr) in its first run. During the second run, it topped out at 254.88 mph (410.24 km/hr). An average of 256.18 mph (412.28 km/hr) from both runs has made the SSC Ultimate Aero the official fastest production car in the world, recorded by Guiness Books of World Records.
On October 9, 2007, The Guinness Book of World Records officially recorded the SSC Ultimate Aero as the fastest production car with a top speed of 256.19 mph (412.28 km/h).
Because of the "S" bends and uneven pavement from the highway, the driver of the Ultimate Aero, 71 years old Chuck Bigelow (an auto enthusiast with no racing or testing background), says that there was a lot more pedal to push. SSC will send an Ultimate Aero to Europe to test its true top speed on one of Germany's ultra-smooth test tracks.
SSC is also in the works for developing a 220+ mph ultra-luxury sports sedan to target "Guinness Fastest Luxury Sedan", set to debut in 2009.

This is a clip of SSC Shelby Super Cars' (American) supercar/hypercar Ultimate Aero TT top speed testing in May of 2007. SSC did transmission temperature tests during these runs for its 2008 Ultimate Aero twin-turbo models. These tests have proven to be successful, and managed to hit 241.4 mph at 71% throttle.
By the end of August 2007, SSC was confident and invited The Guiness Book of World Records to officially record its top speed for the World's Fastest Production car held by the (Swedish) Koenigsegg CCR's 242 mph, and surpassing the unofficial (Italian/French/German) Bugatti Veyron's top speed of 253 mph. The high speed run in September was held in Washington State's predetermined "public" highway.
On September 13, 2007, the Ultimate Aero broke the World Top Speed record run at 256.15 mph on a 2 mile stretch of public highway in Washington State.
