WELCOME :)

I have countless more paintings, drawing and sculptures in my studio (as well as hundreds of works that are held in various collections) than what you can see here and on my website etc. Perhaps one day I will be able to show them ALL to you in some kind of futuristic multidimensional and comprehensive online format (that would be cool).

I am mostly an alla-prima painter. That means I paint my pictures all at once, all in one go, for better or worse. There is no such thing as a mistake in art! There are just strokes that you leave and strokes that you change. Everything is connected to the subconscious and happens for a reason.


Remember, having an imagination is what is most important. Picasso said: "The truth is a lie". Better to let your imagination run wild than try and conform to someone else's perception of "what is real". Realism is an illusion.

I can do it all but I especially love plein-air painting and painting from a nude model when I can.. almost all of 'em are in oil. Oil painting is my favorite medium.

I believe in freedom and beauty in art. Art should be spontaneous and unbridled. Great art is free from pretense, formulaic parameters, and preconception.

Art is also a physical process that lets your soul out. To be a great artist all you have to do is be yourself. Liberate yourself!!! PAUL CUMES
