There is no record of Shaolin Temple as the birthplace of Taichi, (Martial Arts - yes). There are records that show the internal or soft style originated at Wudang Mountain and Tai chi developed from this - mostly as exercises and not the forms you see today. The first actual Tai chi forms (with martial arts aspects) were created at Chen Village with Chen Wangting. I was at Wudang recently and the main priest 0 Zhong YunLong, insists that records exist that Tai chi started with Wudang.
Actually, please listen again. He states that there was no scientific explanation during the time of Buddha - not today, where he then explains how science today can verify the principles of zazen.
This clip was edited down to a much shorter time than it really was. It is a difference in cultures. I watch a soccer match with a 0-0 score and yet still enjoy the game, whereas my American friends get upset by a scoreless game. Likewise, it is not only about hitting the target. There is so much more.
Actually, we are saying that you are the leaf, not the stream. It is a comment to 'wu-wei' of not opposing change or not forcing something. In life, as in the stream, change is inevitable, and this can carry you along just as well, even if it seems there is nothing at work, or no set path. We used the leaf and the stream to show similarity between Zen and popular Taoist thought.
Regarding the copyright notice: I am the filmmaker. I shot the film, paid for travel, crew, music... on and on. I wrote the script and edited for six months. The total time spent creating this one hour movie was nine months. I think I deserve to copyright and safeguard my own work, don't you? Do you work for free? I do not think so. So please ask yourself this with not just me, but any artist, musician or filmmaker who risks everything to bring this work to you.

I just wanted to let you know that watching these short pieces from Empty Mind are awe inspiring. The footage and narration evoke the very feeling of calm that is exercised in the martial arts featured in the videos. I hope to see more.
