Me playing the solo dual of Kissing the shadows by Children of Bodom off their Follow the Reaper album,Alexi Laiho and Janne Warman(Keyboard;) really shred it up in this classic Children of Bodom track.
I tabbed the majority of this song by ear except for the sweep picking parts at the end,I never tune my guitar down so I play everything in E tuning,this means that something that is played in D tuning would be played 2 frets lower if the guitar is tuned in E,this is why I can play this solo with a 22 fret guitar since the 24th fret has changed to the 22nd fret because I'm in E tuning,some people don't understand my method of playing everything in E tuning but with a some theory lessons it will make sense,its simple really and it enables me to play anything I want without changing the tuning or guitar,apart from
notes on the low E string,this involves droping the string to D or investing in a 7-string
Sorry about the low volume,theirs nothing I can do about it,this was one of my first videos so I didn't have a clue where to position the camera to get a good sound and it was just one take,no soundcheck. Actual song used as backing track

This is the Herman li's sweep tapping solo at the start of the solo section of the song Once in a lifetime,I figured it out by ear but it sounds correct(enough),its in the key of E minor and is made up of sweep picked arpeggios and taps at the end of them to extend them,this is a really fun solo to play,its quite like the guitar solo in Valley of the Damned,if your wondering why I didn't finish the solo its cause I didn't figure it out,I only new the sweeps at the time,
Actual song used as backing track because I didn't have the internet or any guitar BT software when I made this.
This was recorded around December 2006,
I was playing 4 years at the time.

Think this is fake????Just check my other videos on my channel,I don't fake guitar,besides this solo is easy,took 5 mins to figure out and learn,apart from the speed dragonforce solos are easy enough to learn,they all follow a melody line that variates and are in a fixed key.

Its a weird solo made up of cromatics, diminished,minor scales to give it a crazy out of key sound.
I play Zacky's guitar line during the harmony which is the lead guitar line,synyster's is the harmony line and thats why i don't play his line.
The arpeggio part is NOT sweep picked, synyster and Zacky alternative pick it on the studio recording,I sweep the D minor arpeggio because I feel more comfortable playing it that way,and the next apreggio I alternative pick because its easier to pick it. Again I play Zacky's arpeggio live because it is the lead guitar line
The majority was tabbed by synyster gates
Sorry but I don't have a tab anymore,your also hearing a guitar recording of Bat country(not the actual version) that I got off my friend,its not actually A7X your hearing
This solo only took an hour or two to learn,
its straightforward enough but fun to play.

I've been told that their is a video for this by the Ammott brothers but this isn't true as it was a once off lesson for a guitar magazine.
