I started playing fingerstyle music when I was 16 years old in 1971. I had discovered acoustic blues two years before that when I heard Big Bill Broonzy play St Louis Blues on the radio.
I'm completely selftaught apart from a friend showing me a few chords and how to tune a guitar. I learned mainly by listening to recordings and with the help of tabbooks (Stefan Grossman etc).
I mostly play country blues from "the 78rpm" era but I also like contemporary artists like John James or Leo Kottke.
Sometimes, when I get bored playing the guitar, I like to dabble with Native American or Indian flutes or a Chinese guqin.

I may not be able to reply to every comment but I do read them all and appreciate them.
I always try to answer every question about the music, guitars, technique etc. but pleeeeeeze, read "about this video" first; there's much info there that will answer many questions

At last someonelse who knows who Mance Lipcomb is! I first heard him on a cylinder Edison recording from the BBC when Iwas 12 years old and so was he when he sang ,Lil Red Rooster, a bit weird for a kid up a mountain at school up a mountain in North Wales UK
