Art photos of Cher from the mid 1960's along with her very first recording, "Ringo, I Love You (Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!) which she recorded under the name, Bonnie Jo Mason. More about this song in Cher history Cher at the time was 16 and was dating the much older Sonny (he was already 27) who was working for record producer Phil Spector at Gold Star Studios in Hollywood.[ With encouragement from Sonny, Cher who was studying acting at the time, started as a session singer, and sang backup on several of Spector's classic recordings, including The Righteous Brothers' "You've Lost That Loving Feeling", The Crystals' "Da Doo Ron Ron" and The Ronettes' "Be My Baby".
Her first solo recording was the unsuccessful novelty single "Ringo, I Love You," released under the pseudonym of Bonnie Jo Mason and produced by Phil Spector.
"Ringo, I Love You" along with the flip side "Beatle Blues" was the first single released on Phil Spector's Annette 1000 label on March 4, 1964 (Cher had turned 17).
Clocking in at just under one minute fifty seconds it is now a piece of musical history.
Here are the lyrics if you wanna zip up your Beatle boots and sing along....

I want to run my fingers Through your hair I want to let you know How much, how much I care
Ringo, I love you yeah yeah yeah More than anything in this world I wanna be your only girl Please let me hold your ... Ringo ... Ringo More than anything I want to wear your ring Oh Ringo ... I love you ... I wanna be your girl ...girl ... girl ... yeah ... yeah ...

JUST THIS ONE TIME WRITER JIMMY WEBB
I've got to try just one more time To help you believe in me Oh, look into my eyes, check my face For lies and you might see My life's never been everything I want it to be, but with you I could change this bad luck With you I could hold my head up And loving you
Just this one time I need someone to believe in me Breathe it with me Get beneath it with me, now Sweet darlin', just this one time
I've got to say the perfect thing Oh, I can't make mistakes now Oh, I've got to read your signs I've gotta sing those magic lines You've got to hear
I know I've given you every reason In this whole round world to fear me now But my love's a raging river And you've wrapped it in your hand Oh darlin'
Just this one time I need someone To believe in me, believe in me Just this one time I need someone To leave it with me, breathe it with me Get beneath it with me now sweet daddy Just this one time
Just this one time I really need somebody (repeat) 4eo

Art photos of Cher created from one photo taken by the late Herb Ritts along with the Cher song "Love Is A Lonely Place" (With Out You) from the 2002 Cher cd, "Living Proof." Here are the lyrics if you want to sing along....
Love is a lonely place without you
I know I'm not alone I should not be afraid Cause I hear your voice And I know you're there beside me
And so I give my heart I live to love again But I can't let go Of the way I feel about you
Love is a lonely place without you I miss you And you're almost here And I'm almost touching you Love is a place I have to hide away
I'll never love this way again (again)
If love was ever true I know it was with you Cause you touch my soul and You stay with me forever
No tears, no said goodbyes There are no reasons why But I'm holding on I believe in love eternal
Love is a lonely place without you I miss you And you're almost here And I'm almost touching you Love is a place I have to hide away I'll never love this way again (again)
Though I'm moving on I'm still holding on - holding on - holding on
Love is a lonely place without you I miss you And you're almost here And I'm almost touching you Love is a place I have to hide away I'll never love this way again (again)
Love is a lonely place - a lonely place [x4]

Art photos of Cher wearing a costume designed by Bob Mackie from her 2002-2005 Farewell Tour performance of her song, "Bang, Bang" (My Baby Shot Me Down) written by Sonny Bono. This song has been updated from the sixties version with additional and updated lyrics penned by Sonny Bono for Cher as she gets her first chance to rock out on an album. Cher is the rare singer that has been recording long enough tobe able to update and cover her own songs. Cher's first version of this song was a simple folk inspired children's tale. Now the song has taken on Rock Opera trappings and is filled with wailing guitars. This version was recorded for her 19th studio album, 1987's self titled Cher album. Bang Bang was produced by Jon Bon Jovi, Desmond Child and Richie Sambora. Drums: Tico Torres Bass: Alec John Such Guitar: Richie Sambora Keyboards: David Bryan Additional Keyboards: Holly Knight and Chuck Kentis Background Vocals: Jon Bon Jovi, Myriam Valle, Diane Graselli, Desmond Child, Michael Bolton, Bernie Shanahan, Joe Lynn Turner and Dave Meniketti
Cher dedicated this album with love to Sonny Bono with love for the first time and to John (His High Kalodness) Kalodner for making me do it again.
Coming soon a few live performance cuts of this song by Cher.

Art photos of Cher wearing a stunning feathered and beaded Bob Mackie gown from the Cher Show when she performed the George and Ira Gershwin classic song, "How Long Is This Been Going On."
A little back story about this song. It was first performed in the musical "Rosalie" in 1927, and was performed by one of Cher's idols, Audrey Hepburn in the 1957 musical "Funny Face," in which she co-starred with Fred Astaire.
Cher recorded the song for her 1972 album, "Bittersweet, White Light," which was produced by her then husband and professional partner, Sonny Bono.
Cher has performed this song four times on television. Her first performance took place on January 17, 1972 on episode #10 of the first season of The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour, their guest star for that episode was Kate Smith. Cher's second performance of the song on television occurred February 21,1973, on episode #39 season 3 of The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour, their guest star was Danny Thomas. Cher performed "How Long Has This Been Going On," for the third time on her own variety show, "The Cher Show," March 19, 1975 which was show number 5 of the first season. Cher's guest stars were Freddie Prinze, Teri Garr and The Pointer Sisters. Cher sang, "How Long Has This Been Going On" for a fourth and final time on television of Sunday March 7th, 1976 on The Sonny and Cher Show. This was episode six of their post divorce variety show and their guest star that night was McLean Stevenson of Mash. This is obviously one of Cher's favorite songs to sing and she does a great job. Cher recorded "How Long Has This Been Going On" for her "Bittersweet White Light" album from 1972 which was remastered and rereleased with additonal songs added in 1999 as "Bittersweet The Love Song Collection." This recording is from the January 17, 1972 episode of The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour, this is Cher's live version of "How Long Has This Been Going On." So once again, just sit back and relax as Cher poses the musical question...How Long Has This Been Going On...
