Hello 2008. I have been updating my videos to deal with the requests I get from you. There are going to be several edits of each video. When I have the footage, I will make full length videos and a short one of just the landing.
The vast majority of my videos were taken in Hong Kong at Kai Tak airport prior to it being closed down in 1998. The new airport, Chek Lap Kok, is the current Hong Kong airport. The ICAO identifier is VHHH.
The video is strictly amateur and any unrelated noise is just that. Some videos may have audio missing or replaced depending on quality or recording on that day.
I have enabled comments.
I will also be uploading versions of the videos with music, for those of us who like the music. There will be a little cleaning up of some of the other videos too and, with any luck, some new videos...

Simplified. The approach used to fly down a modified electronic approach to a point in the air and then the pilots would use this checkerboard on the side of the hill to help navigate the rest of the way to the airport. (hace 1 mes) |

great collection of videos of kai tek aircraft flights. retired u.p.s. airline pilot. i flew i don't know how many flights in and out of kai tek. was a great challenge and a hell of a lot of fun. license to buz. wish i had made some videos for myself. miss my job so very much. but, there were days at that airport that were really quite sporting.. say an approach to 13 with about a 20+ knot wind from around 200 degrees or more. sporting.
