Well the Celtics lost their 6th man who was very important during their championship run, James Posey. It would make it easier for the Lakers because he was doing a great job of sticking on Kobe with every shot, and contesting every thing kobe does. Not you got ray allen and paul pierce on him. Im not saying they are bad defenders but James Posey, I personally believe is more effective on defending Kobe Bryant.

Ellis is injured and with him out for 3 months, the record would probably be so bad, they could not possibly make it up to make it to the playoffs. But the Warriors are the warriors and they can surprise you.

Pistons have not done any big off season moves that would be important for us. They have the same old players with Billups, Rip, and Rasheed slowly aging. I doubt they will be that much of a threat to us as the past seasons.

Ever since Shaq has been to the Suns I think that was a horribly bad idea. Shaq is not fast so he could not keep up with Andrew Bynum. On offense, he clogs up the lane so if anyone drives he would be in the way and mostly will be called for the 3 in the key violation. But if you take him out of the paint and outside for a 15ft jumper, you are hopelessly useless. Shaq mainly came to the Suns to guard big players so Amare wouldn't get tired as much. Let me remind you when Shaq started at Tim Duncan and did nothing with him as he stands open for 3 and the Suns are up 3 in the 2008 first round of the playoffs. I could say he stood there was about 3 seconds and Shaq did not rush or anything not knowing how important if he made the shot. In the end, Duncan swished a three-pointer and the Spurs won that game. Before Bynum was injuried, he was so good in the post and the paint. Imagine what he will be in a couple years, one of the greatest centers to play the game.

The Houston Rockets should be our biggest concern in the west. They basically had a good trade like us. We traded Kwame for Gasol and they traded Jackson for Ron Artest. I don't know how well their chemisty but I remember reading an article of Yao Ming apoligzes to Artest for all of his comments. But that is a dominant big 3, which they are all tall as well and now they have 2 good defenders to guard Kobe, Artest and Battier.

Manu Ginobli still has to come back from that ankle surgery to play his hardest on the floor. The spurs are on their way to aging and being slower and slower every year, maybe not Parker and Manu but like Duncan, Kurt Thomas, Barry, Horry, etc. But they still are a very worthy team and will be a playoff contender.

Hornets would be one of our top oppenents also. They signed Posey, and now their lineup is, Chris Paul, James Posey, Peja , Tyson Chandler, and David West. Thats a very, very tough lineup. And all of them are pretty tall except Chris Paul, but Chris is a very skillful player and was a MVP candidate last year too. It would be tough but I think we can handle it.
