Celia and Bill Abram, retired public school teachers, have been watching chemtrails since late 1998. A former meteorological observer with the Canadian Dept. of Transportation, Bill Abram knew early on that the chemtrails did not match his observations of cirrus or alto stratus or 'mare's tails' or anything else. It was chemtrails, not contrails, that was obscuring the sky. As a matter of fact, that's what the US government (and NATO) calls it. Not officially, of course, because it doesn't exist. That's why most of the public doesn't see them or rationalizes them away. They still trust 'their' government: They are under the sway of the ersatz collective cognitive imperative (to paraphrase Julian Jaynes). Celia and Bill Abram have been watching our double crossed skies for nearly a decade now. Celia identifies the trance state this way, "They never noticed it, haven't a clue what it is, and really aren't that alarmed when we tell them." Teddy Katz, University of Haifa graduate student, got high marks for his MA thesis on the fate of Tantura, one of the over 500 Palestinian coastal villages obliterated by Israel in the new state's 1948 'ethnic cleansing.' When Katz was subsequently sued by the alleged perpetrators, members of the 'Alexandroni Brigade,' The University of Haifa quickly caved in, taking away Katz' MA & refusing to stand behind his scholarship and the university's role in overseeing and honoring Katz (Katz had gone out of his way to record on audio cassette his interviews, a measure not required especially since Israel's premier historian, Benny Morris, discounts oral history as not useful in Israel's special case). Katz, who suffered a mild stroke in the early days of The Trial, was induced to capitulate, averring that there had been no genocide. Katz's cousin-attorney, a ranking officer in the Israeli army, told Katz "...that he did 'not want to arrive at the moment that those Palestinians that [Katz] interviewed will [be able] to climb on the stage of court law and begin telling what they do remember from this war...This is going to be a very sad day for all of us, if this will happen.'" absurdities, ad hominem sallies, bald assertions that are misstatements, bandwagon psychology, bizarre non-sequiters, bullying, diminishment of importance (of the important), dismissiveness, diversion (e.g., not answering the question), failure to provide minimal evidence, fake humility, fake open-mindedness, false parallels, false syllogisms, framing to exclude contrary outlooks, ignorance flaunted as admirable, insinuation, internal contradiction, major premises hidden in passing, misdirection, misleading asides, mixing metaphors (apples and oranges), obfuscation, restriction of options, scare tactics, setting up straw men, sweeping generalizations, and word inflation. In future parts of this series, we will illustrate Chomsky's post-9/11 use of many of these techniques. Zwicker here also explores cognitive dissonance, psychological projection, hypnosis, trance state induction (largely as covered by Douglas Rushkoff and his book, Coercion as well as Steven Pinker (a Chomsky protoge).
Rushkoff's book is useful, but limited, especially in comparison to Julian Jaynes' work, The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind. Rushkoff examines consciousness and the manipulation of it from sort of a reformed behaviorist perspective.
We've arbitrarily inserted in this video three images that aren't especially integral: George Estabrooks' 1949 how-to book, Using Hypnosis; (two) Leon Festinger's how-to book, A Theory of Cognitive Dissonance; and finally (three) Jaynes' book.
Jaynes, for all his brilliance and principled being, ignored the government-corporate exploitation of the vestigial bicameral mind that he identified in his great work. George Estabrooks (Hypnosis) was a happy cold war psy war technician: he believed in 'the mission'. Commies were evil and conniving and he would do anything he could to beat them at their purported game. For Estabrooks, hypnosis was a gimmick and he could get anybody to do anything under hypnosis and said so. Like a good behaviorist, he didn't give a rats ass how hypnosis worked, only that it did work and you had to be careful with it. Dr. Estabrooks (Colgate University) worked for various branches of secret government, undoubtedly integrated into MKULTRA. Leon Festinger's book, A Theory of Cognitive Dissonance, was commissioned by the CIA (via the Ford Foundation). Festinger lead a team of cold-war behaviorists to figure out how to exploit cognitive dissonance. Stanford published their manual in 1957. Like Estabrooks, the behaviorists don't bother much about why or how of hypnosis or the exploitation of cognitive dissonance works, only that it works. Julian Jaynes (of Princeton), wasn't paying attention to the behaviorists he angrily but prematurely dismissed in the 60s. Another arbitrary sort of insertion in this video: Frank Luntz, one of the psy-warriors Zwicker generically refers to. A free-lance psywarrior, Luntz famously sold the Bush administration on pounding 9/11 and 'the terrorists' up front in all Bush admin. speeches. David Brancaccio's July 1974 (on NOW, PBS) interview with Luntz is revealing. Luntz recalls that one of the tricks he learned from mentor Tony Schwartz (The Responsive Chord), is that you don't try to inform or teach, what you do is find narrow self-interest and fear and connect with that, find the responsive chord. In this sequence, Luntz demonstrates another Schwartz technique: throw the target off guard with rhetorical questions. The questions are rhetorical to Brancaccio because he's imprisoned in the construct (belief system, or collective cognitive imperative) that Luntz, like Zelikow, is committed to reinforcing. snowshoefilms / yoryevrah

Barrie Zwicker was the first journalist in the world to deeply question, on national television, the official story of 9/11. It was a great honor in 2003 to meet Zwicker in Toronto. We knew his courageous series of programs questioning the official story had cost him his career in journalism. Zwicker spent no time lamenting. He was organizing, with colleagues, a 9/11 truth movement, determined to expose the big lie: the false-flag inside job terrorist attack would be and was being used as justification for the 'war on terrorism', the war on Islam, the destruction of Iraq. If the 9/11 official story was so preposterous, how come it wasn't easily seen through? Zwicker, a professional media analyst, poses and answers that question in his book. He explains why the corporate media wasn't going to look at it.
Another puzzler: Chomsky and most of the left academics and liberal media outlets were treating the story with the same indifference, the same acceptance, a limbo-like willing suspension of disbelief, an hypnotic state, a trance (required, so as not to look at the implications of the proferred reality: the red pill). Fear holds the populace in check while wool-pullers like Zelikow are able to move about freely, lying, dissembling and being honored. Fear and loathing keeps many on 'the left' (Nation magazine etc) from looking at 9/11 and its implications). Explanations /rationales (for acceptance of the official story) like blowback are promoted for the middlebrow, as Chossudovsky has said. In addition, much of 'the left' is funded by agencies integrally involved in maintaining the big lie, the collective cognitive imperative (see Julian Jaynes) that the U.S was 'attacked by Arab terrorist.'
But what of those like Chomsky, not fearful of losing funding? Of 'speaking truth to power'? And so on.... Chomsky, whose method heretofore insisted on a close examination of evidence.... Um, well, maybe not so much when it comes to conspiracy. And how else but by secrecy and conspiracy are we ruled? - to paraphrase Ralph Schoenman. Noam Chomsky is acknowledged as the progressive world's preeminent thinker and analyst. In interviews, Chomsky dismisses the evidence in the 9/11 crime as inconclusive, as verifying the official story. The implications of not looking are enormous; those who are counted on to be our watchdogs, guides, mentors, analysts, miner's canaries are handing out blue pills. Barrie Zwicker's inquiry into these questions is told in Chapter 5 of his book, "The Shame of Noam Chomsky and the Gatekeepers of the Left". That is the substance of this series of videos. (snowshoefilms series #3) Teddy Katz, a Haifa University graduate student, interviewed over 100 people - Arabs and Jews - for his masters thesis about what happened at Tantura, one of the 553 coastal Palestinian villages destroyed in 1948 by the new Israeli state. According to the eyewitnesses and participants Katz interviewed, some 270-280 villagers were slaughtered in a massacre orchestrated by the Alexandroni Brigade. Once Katz story prematurely went public, to the chagrin of Katz, Haifa University tried to disassociate itself from their graduate student and his thesis, although it had previously approved it and recommended for honors. Subsequently, Haifa University turned on tenured professor Ilan Pappe for defending Katz' thesis.
On April 22, 2005, a week after Katz's Olean talk in western New York, Britain's Association of University Teachers (AUT) voted for an academic boycott of Israel, specifically citing the case of Teddy Katz and two universities, Bar Ilan and Haifa. A member of the Israeli peace group Gush Shalom, Katz toured the U.S. in a series of speaking engagements in April, 2005.
