OMG, where you guys SERIOUS about charging $100 for obituaries?! I thought that was an April Fool's gag!
I'm very sorry to hear you've adopted this policy; the obituaries literally write the history of a community. Geneologists and decendents through the years rely on complete obituaries to research information about the deceased and their relatives. The revelation that The Sun will now cease to print that information without being paid $100 is very discouraging. I was born in Winchester, but now live and work near New York City, and I have relied on the obituary notices to keep track of old friends, family, and relatives.
