I'm uploading some of the first things I ever edited. I wrote and starred in this film, which was a parody of my class when I studied in the IB system. We, as a class, had a lot of inside humor going on in regards to teachers and all the different personalities in the class, so four of us decided to make a movie out of it. I wrote the first draft, and my friend Tony did the re-writes and directed it. Daniel, Farid, Tony and me were all cameramen and producers, and I assisted with some of the editing, in addition to directing an action sequence.
I fell in love with editing when I edited the first teaser for the film, which I'll upload after I've uploaded this. Altogether I edited six trailers for this film, so I re-use a lot of the material.
The film ended up being feature length, pretty spectacular considering the script was 20 pages long. It took us almost half a year to shoot it and a few months to edit it together (if I remember correctly). The reason for the not so balanced shooting schedule was that we constantly ended up laughing, and every camera angle we shot required several takes, some of them took up to 20 takes just for us to get through the lines without laughing.
Actually, the blooper reel we made was longer than the actual movie.
It was filmed in 2005, and all of us in the class have moved on to bigger things, and I think it's safe to show them now that the teachers can't dislike us and give us poorer grades because they didn't like that we parodied them.
