This is ridiculous. I switched the camera recording size to 320 by 240 and it's STILL 15 FPS. Grr. I want my old camera back, with it's smooth 30 frames per second. =(
Anyway, to the video. Took me 3 hours to record a decent one mainly because I only started to arranged it 2 days ago, and with my impatience, I tried to record it today. I just got motivated, y'know?
Notes:
-Added strings at the end (also increased the tempo just a little bit)
-My arrangement. The sheet music doesn't emphasize on the dynamics enough and the actual feeling and connection throughout the piece
-An added part in the middle is actually from the Saint version of Lilium, a part that isn't in the original song.
-Clips from the last episode are added. Transparent effects over the video so you can see my playing AND the clips simultaneously
Now that I think about it, Clannad isn't the first time I cried on an anime. It's this. Elfen Lied. It's been so long that I forgot about it. So sad and so emotional. This is definitely one of my favorite songs to play on the piano.
I hope you enjoy my performance as much as I enjoyed working hard on it!
*Interesting fact: Lilium, the opening song of Elfen Lied, is written with Ecclesiastical Latin lyric cited from biblical passages arranged in style of Gregorian chant and performed by soprano Kumiko Noma.

I was on fire today. Got 56 kills and 15 deaths after 4 rounds. Parts 2 and 3 are coming for those who want to watch it.
Seriously though, I can't imagine anyone who will watch all 3 of these. (Unless of course, you like the music).
And that brings me to another point. Here's what a custom music feature would probably look (sound) like in the Beta or the final product of Metal Gear Online.
Some fyi.
Skills equipped: -Assault R. Mastery lvl 1 (Mastered) -Fast Mov. lvl 3 (Mastered) *Mastery of Fast Mov. is awesome. I run hella fast now.
My score and place at 6:34: -1st place -Kills: 16 (13 were headshots) -Deaths: 4 -Score: 97
Speed of everything is 10. Absolutely nothing is fast forwarded in the video.
The first weapon used was an MK.17 with custom additions. The second one was a Customized M4.
Enjoy. As always, I tried to please most of my subscribers with MGO footage, Anime music, as well as some piano stuff (both anime and classical). These are spread out on the 3 videos. Examples of music are Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No.3, Beautiful World from Evangelion sang by Utada Hikaru, and True Tears OP - Reflectia.

Merry Christmas everyone, especially to my subscribers and the active members of Kyle Landry Forums! This is the sucky gift that I was talking about. =P
And since it's Christmas, I tried something that I haven't before. Stay tuned at the end of the video to see it. =)
(If you think the new stuff sucks, just keep in mind that it was my first try doing that)

This is mainly improvisation. There is no sheet music because I learned it by ear. Sorry guys.
I was kinda forced in doing this also. Not because it was sad and beautiful at the same time, but Josh's sheet music site and Parasoul is down so I couldn't get any sheet music. I'm proud of this though even though it took so longer than expected since learning it by ear is so hard. I wasn't familiar with the scale and the chord progressions are not what I'm used to.
Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone, and I hope you enjoy the video.

Since I'm submitting this (including me playing the piano) to the YouTalent contest, I'll give you guys a background on my experience. Basically, what attracted me to magic at first is Cyril Takayama. Looking that he made so amazing magic and entertained a lot of people inspired me to start, on cards anyway. I've been doing magic for a year now, and kind of switching back and forth in playing the piano and magic. Both have my interest, but I kinda get biased for piano because I've been playing piano for 4 1/2 years now. Besides that, I love the music, especially Classical. =)
For the judges, sorry for the quality. It's not my first priority to buy a good camcorder since we are trying to save money. We just moved to Canada from the US, so buying necessities is more important that just the video.

I'm putting my two hobbies together. Playing MGS (music) and Magic (video).
This is a video about the sleights I'm currently practicing.
Also, you might want to take a second look on that first clip. =D
Enjoy, magic and MGS/MGO fans alike.

Announcement: This month is officially my 5th year in piano (4 years self-studying and continuing)! Haha, nobody cares lol.
EDIT *April 21*: My old video is deleted because it sucks and it's getting more views than this, lolol.

Heck yeah. I can't just stand and watch that horrible performance. I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING! - My *much better* own arrangement of the True Tears Opening.
Well, found out that practice is the only thing missing. I was too excited to post the video (since it's a wonderful song, awesome singing - eufonius/riya) that I got too carried away and posted it prematurely.
So here it is, less mistakes. And to just note, the slow-down 4:39 and similar parts aren't hesitations. They are my interpretation of the rubato. I just love slowing it down at those parts, making it sound emotional - which it is. It's a great feeling to play it that way.
Also, at 4:43, if the bass sounds different, it's D#7, for those who know chords.
Enjoy!

As you know, I've been doing A LOT of pieces that are showy/fast/crazy, etc. and I haven't really showed my soft and emotional side since it's being shadowed by the messy technique of some of my hard pieces. Well here it is!
As a commenter said to my previous video (2 months ago, and why I'm sight reading the song),
"Wonderful. As you said, if you can understand the lyrics, it's a very emotional song. Nice performance."
Now, I recognize some of the words in the song, but I'm clearly not fluent in Japanese -- still learning --, but if you have time, look up the lyrics, or even the song. I relate to the anime scenes/stories so it IS very emotional.
Still have homework to do, so no Wall of Text this time!
All melodies, artists and the original song are copyrighted to their respective owners. I do not own any of this! Please don't sue me. ;_;

Info (for the contest):
I have been playing the piano for 4 3/4 years now (will be five years in April). I had piano lessons on my first year of piano (April 2003-2004). For the past 3 and 1/4 years, I have been self-studying piano and have been learning different techniques and tips from online books, piano books from libraries, and from different pianists like Kyle Landry (improvisation), Lang Lang, Yundi Li, Barenboim (classical piano), etc.
Some of the genres I'm currently learning are Classical piano and improvisations on themes, like music from movies or shows. I started how to improvise about 6-7 months ago. I learned how to read chords from my teacher and learn different techniques from Classical works and from Kyle Landry's improvisation videos.

Length about 5:30.
Yes! I'm getting good at sight reading!
About the video. I forgot to change the equalizer and accidentally changed the brilliance of the sound to the lowest, so it's bass-y, which I really don't like =P. I could've changed it, but because I turned of the piano after recording, it erased the recording. =_=
Also, about the tempo. Someone told me that the original was way faster than this, and I know since I have listened to it myself. This was my interpretation because I thought the original was too fast for it's style (yeah, yeah. I shouldn't alter the original), but I think it's much better, IMO.
So, left hand partially improvised, and sight-readed.
It's a beautiful piece/song, so I hope you enjoy it.

Such memories! Here is my new-ish interpretation on this unique and wonderful piece. For comparison, I had a previous/old video of me playing this.
Regarding my interpretation, it's quite unique compared to different pianists. Especially if you compare it to sodaorat's interpretation, mine is very unusual. Parts like 2:02, about 3:21, etc. It's what the critics call, "heavy phrasing", but I like it. It gives an impression you're actually putting effort into shaping your own interpretation and ideas, and not just 'copying' someone else's.
Also, I have to mention that I did this in only a take because like my other videos (My Way, I'm Proud, etc.), I'm performing this on my first recital as well. And at the end, I was so excited and nervous at the same time. Excited because I actually made the piece sound like what I wanted in one take, and nervous because if I make a mistake at the end, well, it's not one take anymore, which I'm trying to accomplish.
One last thing that I want to remind everyone, that this is not an improvisation. As much as I want it to be *sigh*, it's not. It's a very nice arrangement though. The first jazz piece that I've tried. The first time I tried it I had a very hard time with the timing. The left hand has this *bap* - *babap* rhythm, and the right hand is totally different. Took me a LOOOOOONG time to absorb the concept. (LOL, Arkton [Thomas] should know).
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my performance guise.
