"Werewolves of London" is a song composed by LeRoy Marinell, Waddy Wachtel, and Warren Zevon and performed by Zevon. Included on Zevon's album Excitable Boy, it featured accompaniment by bassist John McVie and drummer Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac. The title reference is to the first Hollywood motion picture about lycanthropy, entitled Werewolf of London. The song is memorable for its humorous and macabre lyrics, and the refrain featuring a howling "a-ooo!!"
Covers: In 1975, T Bone Burnett and members of Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue played the then-unreleased song on several dates, including Dec. 4, 1975 at the Montreal Forum. In 1985 the Dexy's Midnight Runners track "One of those Things" from the Album "Don't Stand Me Down" uses the riff taken from Werewolves of London. Zevon and his co-writers LeRoy Marinell and Waddy Wachtel thus get writing credits on the song. In 1988, David Lindley and El-Rayo X did a reggae flavored cover on their album Very Greasy. In 1990, The Black Velvet Band covered the song for the compilation album Rubáiyát. In 2002, British alternative band Doves reinterpreted the song as a b-side titled "Hit The Ground Running". Since 2005, the rock band The Golden Ticket have made the song a highlight of their live show. In 2006, indie rock band Magnolia Electric Co. covered the song. In 2006, Jimmy Buffett covered this song on the soundtrack for the movie Hoot. Although only a small portion of the song appeared in the movie, the entire song is on the soundtrack album. On 17th September 2006, Australian Idol finalist Bobby Flynn covered the song during the 2nd Finals Week (Rock) segment of the competition. Adam Sandler performed the song on the David Letterman show, singing and playing guitar. He also recorded the song for the tribute album Enjoy Every Sandwich: Songs of Warren Zevon. The Grateful Dead covered this song a number of times, often on Halloween, including a performance in London's Wembly Stadium on Halloween 1990. The band also performed the song once as a rare encore on July 8, 1978 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Kid Rock samples the song on his 2007 cd Rock And Roll Jesus. The song is called "All Summer Long" and also samples Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet home Alabama". In November of 2007, Widespread Panic covered the song for the 45th time since the band started in 1985. Akira The Don reinterpreted the song on his Thieving mixtape as "Werewolves!", which concerned London grifters and slum landlords. Jesse Ventura played the song at his inauguration party as governor of Minnesota.

Blues Brothers 2000 is a 1998 musical/comedy film and sequel to the 1980 film The Blues Brothers. Directed by John Landis, the film featured Dan Aykroyd and John Goodman, with cameos by many musicians. The film is dedicated to John Belushi, John Candy and Cab Calloway.
Plot: Blues Brothers 2000 picks up 18 years after The Blues Brothers, with Elwood being released from prison, this time a rather high-tech private prison rather than the old Illinois state prison depicted in the first film. He learns that his brother, Jake (John Belushi) has died, along with their surrogate father figure Curtis (Cab Calloway), and that the orphanage the two had saved in the first film is no more; however he is told of a half brother (of sorts). The "half brother" is the illegitimate son of Curtis, named Cabel "Cab" Chamberlain (Joe Morton). Cab is a chief in the police force and refuses to reunite with or support Elwood, a habitual criminal. Elwood takes a job as an announcer in a nightclub (A strip club owned by the drummer of the Blues Brothers band), where he discovers that the bartender (played by John Goodman) has singing talent, while getting on the bad side of the Russian mafia who have been demanding payoffs from the nightclub.
After the Russian mafia burns down the club, Elwood resolves to put the band back together once again with John Goodman's character as his new partner and a 10-year old orphan named Buster (J. Evan Bonifant) also tagging along. The band travels to several locations shown in the first film with a depiction of how they have changed in the intervening years (Bob's Country Bunker for example is now Bob's Country Kitchen, a family restaurant). As well as upsetting the mafia, Elwood also falls foul of a "white power group" and the police force, headed by a zealous Cab.
Finally, the band heads south to Louisiana with the intention of entering a battle of the bands held at the home of a voodoo practitioner named Queen Moussette, played by Erykah Badu. At the battle of the bands they compete against B.B. King's band. Ironically, B. B. King's character started the band only after Elwood bought a police car from him in the beginning of the film.
Blues Brothers 2000: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the soundtrack album to the 1998 film, Blues Brothers 2000, the sequel to the 1980 film, The Blues Brothers. In addition to tracks by the Blues Brothers Band and guest artists, there are songs by the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and Blues Traveler as well as an all-star blues supergroup, the Louisiana Gator Boys, featuring B.B. King, Eric Clapton and dozens of other artists.

Lyrics: If I had just one tear Running down your cheek Maybe I could cope Maybe I'd get some sleep If I had just one moment at your exspense Maybe all my misery Would be well spent...yeaaaa
Could you cry a little Lie just a little Pretend that your feeling a little more pain I gave now I'm wanting Something in return So cry just a little for me
If your love could be caged, honey, I would hold the key And conceal it underneath the pile of lies you handed me And you'd hunt and those lies They'd be all you'd ever find And that'd be all you'd have to know For me to be fine
And you'd cry a little Die just a little And baby I would feel just a little less pain I gave now I'm wanting Something in return So cry just a little for me
Give it up baby I hear your goodbye Nothin's gonna save me I see it in your eyes Some kind of heartache Darlin give it a try I don't want pity I just want what is mine
Yeah.. Could you cry a little Lie just a little Pretend that you're feeling a little more pain I gave now I'm wanting Something in return So cry just a little for me
Cry just a little for me Could you cry just a little for me?
Cry is the fifth album by country artist Faith Hill, released in 2002 (see 2002 in music).
To date, the album has sold 2.6 million copies in the US and 3.6 million copies worldwide so it has been certified double platinum.
Stylistically, the album is a vast departure for Hill. Whereas previous efforts held a more country-music tone occasionally mixed with pop and gospel influences, Cry incorporates not only pop and dance but R&B and rock alongside the occasional bit of gospel.
"Cry" was the first single from American Country singer Faith Hill's 2002 Cry album.
It was originally written and recorded by singer Angie Aparo. Once Hill heard the song, she immediately fell in love with it and wanted to record it.
In 1999, with Grammy-winning producer Matt Serletic, Aparo released "The American". His single, "Spaceship," hit the radio waves in 2000, and The American also includes his original version of the single "Cry", made popular by Faith Hill and featured on her album of the same name. Many songs from The American are also on a live CD 9Live that was released in 2004.
Released in mid 2002, "Cry" proved to be less successful than the title track, "Breathe," off of Hill's last album, Breathe. It quickly peaked at number twelve on the Billboard Country Chart (then it dropped off very fast) and number thirty three on the Billboard Hot 100. Interestingly enough, the song was extremely popular over at the adult contemporary charts, spending eleven weeks at number one.

The Muppets are a group of puppet characters created by Jim Henson. Individually, a Muppet is properly one of the puppets made by Jim Henson or his company's workshop. Although the term is often used erroneously to refer to any puppet that resembles the distinctive style of The Muppet Show and Sesame Street characters, the term is both an informal name and legal trademark linked to the characters created by Henson.
The word "Muppet" itself was said by Henson to have been created by combining the words "marionette" and "puppet"; however, Henson was also known to have stated that it was just something he liked the sound of, and he made up the "marionette/puppet" story while talking to a journalist because it sounded plausible.
After earlier unsuccessful attempts, The Walt Disney Company finally bought the Muppets in 2004. Exceptions include characters appearing on Sesame Street (as they were previously sold to Sesame Workshop), the Fraggles of Fraggle Rock (which are still owned by The Jim Henson Company), along with the above-mentioned non-"Muppet"-brand characters. The legal trademark on the term "Muppet" is currently held by The Muppet Holding Co., LLC (a division of the Walt Disney Company); although Sesame Workshop and the Jim Henson Company continue to use the term on their characters with certain permissions.
After nearly a decade, a new movie is in the works. Disney recently enlisted Jason Segel and Nick Stoller to create the next Muppet movie for the studio.
A common design for a Jim Henson Muppet is a character with a very wide mouth and large protruding eyes. The puppets are often molded or carved out of foam rubber, and then covered with fleece. Muppets may represent humans, anthropomorphic animals, realistic animals, robots, extraterrestrial creatures, mythical beings or other unidentified, newly imagined creatures, monsters or abstract characters.
Muppets are distinguished from ventriloquist "dummies", which are typically animated only in the head and face, in that their arms or other features are also mobile and expressive. Muppets are typically made of softer materials. They are also presented as being independent of the puppeteer, who is usually not visible—hidden behind a set or outside of the camera frame. Using the camera frame as the "stage" was an innovation of the Muppets. Previously on television, there would typically be a stage hiding the performers, as if in a live presentation.
The Muppeteer typically holds the puppet above his head or in front of his body, with one hand operating the head and mouth and the other manipulating the hands and arms, either with two separate control rods or by "wearing" the hands like gloves. One consequence of this design is that most Muppets are left-handed as the puppeteer uses his right hand to operate the head while operating the arm rod with his left hand. There are many other common designs and means of operation. In advanced Muppets, several puppeteers may control a single character; the performer who controls the mouth usually provides the voice for the character. As technology has evolved, the Jim Henson team and other puppeteers have developed an enormous variety of means to operate puppets for film and television, including the use of suspended rigs, internal motors, remote radio control, and computer enhanced and superimposed images. Creative use of a mix of technologies has allowed for scenes in which Muppets appear to be riding a bicycle, rowing a boat, and even dancing on-stage with no puppeteer in sight.
Famous Muppets from The Muppet Show and its numerous spin-offs include Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo the Great, Rowlf the Dog, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker, Scooter, Statler and Waldorf, the Swedish Chef, Sam the Eagle, Sweetums, Pepe the King Prawn, Rizzo the Rat and Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem. Other well-known Muppets include Sesame Street characters such as Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Elmo, Zoe, Bert and Ernie, Cookie Monster, Grover, Abby Cadabby and The Count, as well as the main characters of Fraggle Rock.

Lyrics: Yes, my baby left me, never said a word. Was it something I done, something that she heard? You know she left me, my baby left me. My baby even left me, never said a word.
But, I stand at my window, wring my hands and cry. I hate to lose that woman, hate to say goodbye. You know she left me, I say, she left me. My baby even left me, never said goodbye. (Play it, Blues Boy!)
And now, one of these mornings, Lord, it won't be long, You'll look for me and, Baby, Daddy he'll be gone. You know she left me, I say she left me. My baby even left me, never said a word.
Now, I stand at my window, wring my hands and moan. All I know is that the one I love is gone. My baby left me, I say she left me. My baby even left me, never said goodbye. My baby even left me, never said goodbye.
Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) was an American roots rock band who gained popularity in the late 1960s and early '70s with a string of successful songs from multiple albums released in 1968, 1969 and 1970.
The group consisted of singer, lead guitarist, and primary writer John Fogerty, rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty, bass player Stu Cook, and drummer Doug Clifford. Their musical style encompassed rock and roll and so-called swamp rock genres. Their songs are often cited as examples of patriotic, liberal American protest songs, and of classic rock.
CCR's music is still a staple of American and worldwide radio airplay and often figures in various media.
Legacy: Creedence Clearwater Revival was somewhat unfashionable in rock circles during their heyday because they concentrated on tightly-focused, well-crafted, and short songs created to appeal to everyone. Unlike most other rock artists of the day, they eschewed drug use and did not contribute significantly to progressive activism—although they were all against the war in Vietnam, and they contributed substantial money to the American Indian Movement.
Even in the immediate years after breaking up, Creedence's stature as one of the great American rock bands was secure. The music went on to influence entire genres such as heartland rock, country rock, alt-country, and even punk and heavy metal musicians revere the band. Decades later, CCR's music remains in heavy rotation on oldies and classic rock radio stations. Fogerty's songs, considered classics of the rock form, have been covered by multiple artists, and many artists express both admiration and envy over Creedence's mastery of the two-and-a-half minute hit single. "Fortunate Son" in particular has become a universal anthem against war, class privilege, and jingoism. Creedence songs frequently appear in films and on television, and indeed the band continues to attract young fans born long after the band split up.
Even so, the surviving members resist all suggestion that they reunite as a group. There have been "unofficial" reunion performances by the band, however. All four members jammed together at Tom Fogerty's wedding on October 19, 1980. John, Stu, and Doug performed at their 20th high school reunion in 1983, but they performed as their original incarnation, The Blue Velvets. But with the new round of lawsuits in the 80s and 90s between John, Saul Zaentz, and Stu and Doug's tribute band, the post-1972 animosity has only deepened.
Creedence Clearwater Revival was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 on the first ballot. Tom Fogerty's widow, Tricia, brought the urn containing his ashes for the ceremony and expected Creedence reunion. Tom's son Jeff, a professional musician, was also on hand to take his father's place as rhythm guitarist for the traditional post-awards live set. John, however, would not perform with fellow bandmates Stu and Doug, instead having them barred from the stage while he played with an all-star band that included Bruce Springsteen and Robbie Robertson. Rumor has it that Cook and Clifford walked out of the ceremony, but apparently a group photo was taken with Fogerty afterward. All three stared straight ahead and didn't utter a word to each other. Later, Clifford had tears in his eyes, telling fans of his disappointment.
Today, John Fogerty says he has no intention of reuniting with his former bandmates. Stu Cook and Doug Clifford echo that sentiment.

Depeche Mode are an electronic music band formed in 1980, in Basildon, Essex, England. The group's original line-up was Dave Gahan (lead vocals), Martin Gore (keyboards, guitar, vocals, chief songwriter after 1981), Andrew Fletcher (keyboards) and Vince Clarke (keyboards, chief songwriter 1980--81). Vince Clarke left the band after the release of their 1981 debut album, and was replaced by Alan Wilder (lead keyboards) who was a band member from 1982 to 1995. Following Wilder's departure, Gahan, Gore, and Fletcher have continued as a trio.
Depeche Mode are one of the longest-lived, most successful and influential bands to have emerged from the New Romantic and New Wave era. They have had forty-five songs in the UK Singles Chart (giving them more charting singles without a #1 hit than any other artist), as well as one US and two UK #1 albums. According to their record company, Depeche Mode have sold over 72 million records worldwide.
Recording history "Route 66" was first recorded in 1946 by Nat King Cole, whose rendition became a hit on both the U.S. R&B and pop record charts. The version recorded by Perry Como in 1959 is more complete, including the seldom-heard second verse and also the introductory verse.
The song has become a pop standard and has since been covered by numerous other vocal and instrumental artists, including: Acoustix, Asleep at the Wheel, Chuck Berry, Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Buckwheat Zydeco, The Cheetah Girls, Natalie Cole, Perry Como, only version with the complete lyrics, The Cramps, Depeche Mode, Dr. Feelgood, Guitar Wolf, Hard Times, Hot Zex, Jason & the Scorchers, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Jolt, Legendary Tiger Man, The Manhattan Transfer, John Mayer, Them featuring Van Morrison, Brad Paisley, Pappo, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (Pack Up the Plantation VHS only), John Pizzarelli, Rick and The Goose, Rockfour, The Rolling Stones, Scat-Man John, Skrewdriver, Mel Tormé

The blues are mushed up into three different ways One said go the other two said stay I woke up this mornin' with the blues three different ways You know one say go "baby I want to hang up", the other two said stay
Wake up mama I got something to tell you You know I'm a man who love to sing the blues Now you got to wake up baby, mama now, I got something; I got something to tell you Well you know I'm the man, oh yes and I love to sing the blues
Come on baby, Come on I went upstairs to pack my leavin' trunk, you know I ain't see no blues or whiskey made me sloppy drunk I ain't never seen no whiskey, the blues made me sloppy drunk I go home baby and I lay down on the lawn
Taj Mahal was born in Harlem, in New York City, but grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts. His father was a jazz pianist/composer/arranger of Jamaican descent, while his mother was an African American schoolteacher from South Carolina who sang gospel. His grandfather married a St. Kitts woman. His sister was Carole Fredericks. In his song titled "Ain't It Funky Now", he talks about his past and where he grew up.
In the early 1960s he studied agriculture and animal husbandry at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and graduated in 1964. (The same university also gave him an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree in 2006.) While there he formed Taj Mahal & the Elektras; using a stage name of the Taj Mahal was inspired by a dream.
After college, he moved to Los Angeles and formed the group Rising Sons with Ry Cooder in 1964. The group signed with Columbia Records and released one single and recorded another album which was not released by Columbia until 1992. Taj, frustrated with the mixed reaction to his music quit the group and went solo. Still with Columbia, he released a well-received, self-titled album in 1968, and based on its success released a second album, Natch'l Blues that same year. The two-record set Giant Step, released in 1969 firmly established Taj as an American blues artist, with its title track becoming a cult favorite still popular with today's audiences. Taj and guitarist Jesse Ed Davis are also known for their performance in 1968 on The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus.
His music blends various sources: blues, reggae, Cajun, gospel, bluegrass, Hawaiian, African and Caribbean musical traditions. He plays an assortment of musical instruments.
He has received two Grammy Awards in the category Best Contemporary Blues Album, the first in 1997 for Señor Blues, and again in 2000 for Shoutin' In Key.
In 2002, he featured on the Bo Diddley tribute album Hey Bo Diddley - A Tribute!, performing the song "Bo Diddley".
He has performed on various movie soundtracks including Sounder and Blues Brothers 2000 in which he also appeared. He also appeared briefly in the motion pictures Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey (as the gatekeeper), Six Days Seven Nights (as the singer at a resort hotel), Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (as the leader of a swing band performing at a party), Outside Ozona and The Song Catcher. He can also be heard singing the theme song and playing the acoustic guitar soundtrack on the children's cartoon Peep and the Big Wide World. In addition, he wrote and performed the title theme song to the Star Wars spinoff cartoon series, Ewoks. He is also the composer of the famous song She Caught The Katy (along with Yank Rachel) which is the first song performed by Jake Blues (John Belushi) at the beginning of the movie The Blues Brothers.
In 2006, he appeared as a guest musician on the Ladysmith Black Mambazo album Long Walk to Freedom, playing an electric guitar backing for "Mbube" ("The Lion Sleeps Tonight").
On February 8, 2006, Taj Mahal was designated the "official Blues Artist" of Massachusetts by Chapter 19 of the Acts of 2006. On December 16, 2006, he appeared with his band, Taj Mahal Trio, at the 18th Annual Warren Haynes Xmas Jam in Asheville, NC. The appearance was recorded for an upcoming DVD which is to be released in early 2007.
In 2006, Taj Mahal moved from Hawaii, where he had lived during the peak of his career in the 1970s and since 1992, to Berkeley, California, where he had lived previously, during the days of the Free Speech Movement (1964--1965). Earlier, on 8 February 2006, he was named the official Blues Artist of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

SHeDAISY is an American country music group founded in the late 1990s by sisters Kristyn Robyn Osborn (b. August 24, 1970), Kelsi Marie Osborn (b. November 21, 1974), and Kassidy Lorraine Osborn (b. October 30, 1976), all natives of Magna, Utah. The group's name is derived from a Navajo slang word meaning "my (little) sister".
The trio got its start in 1989 under the name The Osborn Sisters; signed to the Nashville division of RCA Records, they would record one album which was never released. By 1999, they had assumed the name SHeDAISY and had signed Lyric Street Records; their first album to be released, The Whole SHeBANG, was issued that year and has since been certified platinum in the United States. A Christmas album titled Brand New Year was released in 2000, followed by a remixed version of The Whole SHeBANG in 2002. Knock on the Sky was issued in 2003, followed by 2004's gold-certified Sweet Right Here, 2006's Fortuneteller's Melody and 2008's The Best of SHeDAISY.
Counting two Christmas singles, SHeDAISY has charted a total of fourteen singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. These include the Top Ten hits "Little Good-Byes" (#3, 1999), "This Woman Needs" (#9, 1999-2000), "I Will... But" (#2, 2000), and "Don't Worry 'Bout a Thing" (#7, 2005).
History: SHeDAISY began singing at an early age, performing for relatives in their hometown of Magna, Utah. They sold tickets to neighborhood shows[3] and sang to the residents of local retirement homes. Eventually, they performed "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Utah Jazz home games. After moving to Nashville, Tennessee, they worked similar shifts at different department stores since they had to share one car, which they collectively owned.[4]

Well early in the mornin I'm a givin you the warnin, don't you step on my blue suede shoes Oh hey diddle diddle gonna play my fiddle, I ain't got nothing to lose Roll Over Beethoven, tell Tchaikovsky the news
Well she wiggles like a glow-worm, dances like a spinning top yeah, she got a crazy partner, you should have seen her reel and rock long as she got a dime, the music will never stop
Well if you feel you like it, go get your lover and reel and rock it Roll it over and move on up now, go for cover and reel and rock it Roll it over, Roll Over Beethoven, dig these rhythm and blues
Roll Over Beethoven, Roll Over Beethoven, Roll Over Beethoven, Roll Over Beethoven, Roll Over Beethoven, dig these rhythm and blues (repeat 2X)
Electric Light Orchestra, also known as ELO, were a rock group from Birmingham, England who released eleven studio albums between 1971 and 1986 and another album in 2001. ELO (the brainchild of Roy Wood) were formed to accommodate Roy's burning desire to create pop songs with heavily classical overtones. The band's direction for most of their existence was by Jeff Lynne who, after the band's debut record, wrote all of the group's original compositions and produced every album.
It was in the United States that the band were first successful, billed as 'The English guys with the big fiddles'. They soon gained a cult following despite lukewarm reviews back in their native United Kingdom. They were managed by agent Don Arden, father of Sharon Osbourne.
By the mid-1970s, they had become one of the biggest selling bands in music. From 1972 to1986, ELO accumulated more combined UK and US Top 40 hit singles than any other band in the world, with 46. The group also scored twenty Top 20 UK hit singles, as well as fifteen Top 20 appearances in the US Billboard charts. The band also hold the record for having the most Billboard Top 40 hits of any band in US chart history without ever having a #1 single.
Despite the fact that the majority of the group's material was never researched, audited and certified, ELO collected 21 RIAA awards, and 38 BPI awards.
"Roll Over Beethoven" is a 1956 hit single by Chuck Berry originally released on Chess Records, with "Drifting Heart" as the b-side. The lyrics of the song mention rock and roll and the desire for rhythm and blues to replace classical music. The song has been covered by many other artists and Rolling Stone ranked it #97 on their list the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
According to Rolling Stone and Cub Koda of the All Music Guide (AMG), Berry wrote the song in response to his sister Lucy always using the family piano to play classical music when Berry wanted to play contemporary popular music.
In addition to classical composers Beethoven and Tchaikovsky, the lyrics mention or allude to several popular artists. "Early in the morning" is the title of a Louis Jordan song and "Blue Suede Shoes" refers to Carl Perkins's song. Finally, "Hey diddle diddle" comes from the nursery rhyme, "The Cat and the Fiddle". Although the lyrics mention rocking and rolling, the music that the classics are supposed to step aside for is always referred to as "rhythm and blues". Arthur Alexander appropriated the lyric "a shot of rhythm and blues" for the title of his later song.
As for the rest of the lyrics, a "rhythm review" describes the old style R&B show with many featured artists appearing on one bill in front of a big band. One phrase that has troubled some cover artists not familiar with the southern idiom for "a little bit more" is "move on up just a trifle further". Neither the Beatles nor the Electric Light Orchestra manage to sing the phrase correctly, despite having done two versions apiece.
Like The Tennessee Waltz, "Roll Over Beethoven" is a self-referential metasong, i.e. a song about the song itself.
