A translation for "Okinawa ni furu yuki" or "Snow in okinawa"
As I said, Im brazilian but im not native in english, but maybe this translation can help you.

Okinawa ni furu yuki is played using Okinawa`s sanshin 'musical scale' (or rythm) and the brazilian rythm. The song was born when Miyazawa found a film called "Navy no koi" (The ship of love? - not sure) (from Hiroshi Nakae) which takes place in Okinawa (a man called Sanra abandon his birthplace to go to Brazil where he lives for 60 years until come back to Okinawa searching for Navy, his girlfriend that had to abandon).
"Being (feeling) like Sanra, 'Okinawa ni furu yuki' is a song that makes you remember of Okinawa when you are far from it. The song shows that there's nothing more beautiful than that. For the first time I could write a love song for Okinawa. I think that there's a well balanced distance in Okinawa's musical scale and brazilian's rythm, and I am in the middle of both." (Kazufumi Miyazawa)

Obvio que de Kazufumi sabés más vos que yo, por ahí entonces arriesgo seguro que fue del 2002, más cerca de cuando fue el hit de Shima Uta acá. Después de él tocaron los Parraleños y en el medio, se cortó la luz. XD (Y si es del 2004 nomás y el recital fue re parecido? Pero en serio, no te pierdas los festivales del Jardín, son lo más, en la página del Jardín Japonés hay info de todos los festivales siempre, y tienen un newsletter.
