Mayor Stew Young and Langford Council are dodging municipal process and spending millions without approval, despite 1000s of legal signatures on petitions protesting. Council changed the no. of the Interchange Bylaw from 1147 to 1152 _after_ the petition went out leading many to suspect it was done 2 invalidate the petition. Council created a Local Service Area around the unpopulated area in question and is claiming that they don't have to ask residents' permission to go ahead as "no one lives in this LSA." The mayor is threatening to sue the tree-sitters for the cost of the 70 police HE preemptively called. Langford says they are not trying to intimidate people out of exercising their legal right to protest, but many disagree.
