There was a time when our love
was so true,
like the the time when our love
was brand new,
and like the time when I
first saw you,
and the thought of no you
made me blue.
Now my nights are so long
without you,
and in my mind, I still remember
lovin' you.
Days like these, my memories
get the best of me.
And days like these, my mind sees
what used to be.
There was a time when we strolled
in the park,
and a time, at the beach
in the dark,
and the time you left me
without you.
And the thought of no you
makes me blue.
It's days like these,
I can't understand
why God's purpose
made me stand alone.
But it's days like these,
He works with me
to help me see
how I can be alone, in days like these.
Now my nights are so long
without you,
and in my mind, I still remember
lovin' you.
Days like these, my memories
get the best of me.

A Georgia moon and a mason jar,
with a night fallin' down,
I'm sittin' out on the front porch stoop
'Cause it's the best place I've found.
The moon's a comin' up
and I'm knockin 'um down
and I'm about feelin' fine
with a Georgia Moonshine chasin'
a Georgia moonshine.
It'll be a Georgia Moonshine chasin' a
Georgia moonshine
'cause it's a cold day
but a bright blue flame says it
won't be tonight.
All my friends and my drinkin' buddies can
drop in another time,
'cause tonight it's just me, myself
and my Georgia Moonshine.
Another day and the Moonshines down
as the sun begins to Crown,
But there's sumpin' inside me says I
need another round.
So I cap the bottle and I crack a jar
and I'll start feelin' fine
when the Georgia Moonshine chases
the Georgia sunshine.
I ain't forgot about Jim or Jack
or Johnny's Red or Black.
I ain't forgot aboutcha Crown but I gotta
'nother jar to crack.
Well they can come back another time
it'll be real soon.
But tonight it's a mason jar and a
'nother Georgia moon.
It'll be a Georgia Moonshine chasin' a
Georgia moonshine,
'cause it's a cold day but a mason jar says
it won't be tonight.
My buddy Jim and my buddy Jack can
drop in another time,
'cause tonight it's just me, myself
and my Georgia Monshine.

I got some shakin' knees
but some dancin' beads says I'll
be warm tonight.
Well Mr. Beam and Mr. Daniels can
drop in another time

I'm here another day
and the sun's shining bright.
You weren't here another night.
And I'm wonderin', where could you be
when your not here at home lovin' me.
So I'll just grab myself another bottle
and my induced mind will take me.
And sink my head down into my pillow,
to the false state of you here with me.
This false state of you here with me,
it's the happiest I can be, unhappily.
It's you-induced that I need to be,
with you at home to hold and love me.
I've been through many sleepless nights.
This pain is from something
that just ain't right.
And I've wondered, where could you be,
when your not here at home holdin' me.
So I'll just grab myself another bottle
and my induced mind will take me.

You can't take'em back.
What's done is done.
Living in this fantasy world
you are your author of fun.
So go to sleep now and rest your head.
You can end your mayhem.
You can end your dread.
A change in the way you think
can change your dreams,
and a change in your dreams
can change all things.

Fullfill your new dreams
as you hold God's hand.
It's not just a bowl of cherries.
Each one has it's pits.
And living in this fantasy world
is where reality hits.

Daddy do what a daddy has to do.
Yeah, daddy do what a daddy has to do.
Well I don't care what he do now.
He do what he has to, anyhow.
My daddy do what a daddy has to do.
Daddy said, "Get yo' butt over here!"
Yeah daddy said, "Get yo' butt over here!"
Well I didn't care what daddy say,
cuz I was goin' there anyway.
But daddy said, "Get yo' butt over here!"
Well daddy commenced to askin' mean,
what I did, he thinks he seen.
Well I won't lie. to myself I'd say,
"If he didn't see, I'd tell it my way."
So I did just that and he looked in my eye.
I knew right then my story didn't fly.
What I did was big trouble,
and what I said, it made it double.
Then daddy said,
"Don't commence to lyin' 'roun' here!"
Yeah daddy said,
"Don't commence to lyin' 'roun' here!"
Well I didn't care what daddy say,
cuz I was gon' lie anyway.
But daddy said,
"Don't commence to lyin' 'roun' here!"
Then daddy said, "Don't lie no mo'!"
Yeah daddy said, "Don't lie no mo'!"
Now I don't care what daddy say.
It don't pay to lie, anyway.
'Cause daddy said, "Don't lie no mo'!"
It was the best dang whuppin' I ever had.
I learned not to lie 'causa my dad.
I learned real quick, the bad, not to do.
If not quick enough, it was this I knew.....
The words and the beat was right in time.
A good enough reason didn't need no rhyme.
Now that I'm a daddy and I'm all grown,
those rhymes and reasons I carry on.

Well I don't care what he do now.
