Why do people laugh at creationists?
24
Vídeos
Part of a series of videos exposing the funny stupidity of creationists and why they deserve to be laughed at. In each case the creationist statements are shown to be outrageously stupid by even the most rudimentary knowledge of science.

Sorry it took awhile to respond, I have been at Chinese Immersion Camp (not joking)
Anyways, thank you for your advice. I try to research thoroughly on topics I agree (or disagree) on. VenomFangX, I admit, was one where I used Christian biased sources. I will see to it that I go further... but either way, most of my support to him is through bearing his 'persecution' if you will... "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." And thanks for thinking I am intelligent.... could you tell that to my teacher please? :) |

Conventional reasoning is powerful.
Being assuaged is a weakness. And if DonExodus2 and Thunderf00t 'need' to be on YouTube to assuage the misrepresented truths they so ardently perceive, then I would think either way the propaganda engine wins and instead of having a redundant interaction a well bodied emotional struggle begins in hopes that the war on thoughts never stops. Either way, your truth, my truth, his truth, her truth. It's all gossip unless your a scientist. Or be someone stricken with the ability to discern complexity and define the mundane. I hope morons become learned and I hope fools who have been mislead are put on a path of knowledge that is less stressful and circular than the one they had tread before. |

//A word of advice to you: always avoid hypocrisy and fallacies (such as circular reasoning) whenever you debate with followers of Christ.//
I fail to see what relevance this little piece of advice has with my original comment you are responding to. Circular reasoning? Where do you see that? I think this advice would be more useful to your fellow followers of Christ; almost every argument against evolution I've ever had the misfortune of encountering is riddled with factual inaccuracies and logical fallacies |

And evolution is as much a "belief" as the theory of heliocentricity, or the theory of gravity. You mistake your own misconception of evolution as one that is shared by the scientific community; no biologist says they "believe in evolution", because it's not a belief, it is a scientific theory that has withstood 150 years of condemnation, assault, ridicule etc. You say evolution cannot be proved or tested? Why not exactly? DNA has confirmed the process of evolution many decades ago; it HAS been observed and it HAS been tested. Granted, we can't go back in time to actually look at life as it was millions of years ago, but we have confirmed with absolute certainty things such as Common Ancestry, Natural Selection, Atavisms, DNA replication, Genome Sequencing, Mutations, etc. that have ALL been consistent with evolutionary predictions.

I don't see the problem with labelling evolution as
All-pervading process - Evolution is the unifying theory in biology; it ties up many scientific fields together and is remarkably consistent with all new information. Revealed truth - Is it wrong that new data is corroborates with evolutionary theory? It has been "revealed" in the sense that it has been confirmed with advances in microbiology, geology, DNA, RNA etc. An illuminating light - Again, it is the only possible conclusion that we can draw from the mountains of scientific data, and makes sense of everything we know about living organisms. Story-telling - Rather vague; but I'd agree, it tells the story of the earth, including migratory progress, evolutionary adaptation, etc. |

Noticed how you've ignored my post about Noah's Ark, or the "super evolution" theory.
This barrage of quote mining does absolutely nothing to further your point; nor does it throw any of the mountains of scientific data that support evolution into question. Quote mining is a very common tactic employed by creationists; and it is arguably the worst form of argument and certainly one of the dirtiest, purely for the fact that you deliberately misrepresent someone's position to support your own. I will not add a rebuttal to each of your quotes (as they all follow a similar trend) but I did a quick Google search and, not surprisingly, on my first attempt I found that Colin Patterson has condemned the use of his quotes by creationists; simply type in "Patterson misquoted". |

"Thirdly, you state a hate for religion caused WW2? You mean Hitler's hate for Jews? And where did this hate stem from? His own religious convictions, namely the fact that he was Roman Catholic! It is still uncertain whether Hitler merely utilized religion for his own benefit, or whether he actually believed what he fulfilling the will of God; but the fact remains that the German hatred for Jews stemmed largely from RELIGIOUS propaganda."
Have you seen my statements on Hitler's religious affiliations? Adolf HItler used Christianity as a very clever political ruse... some great Christian Philosophers in Germany disappeared when they opposed him. Once he gained power, he did very little to keep this up. Just ask the thousands of Priests and Pastors he threw in concentration camps. |
