Let's peek in on a typical night at home with Sam Klemke and Kathlynne Moonfire as they fire up their creative juices.
Sam has been asked by a glossy lifestyle Magazine to do an illustration for an article about existential Identity... "Who Am I?" exclaims the author as he contemplates his lot in life after making his millions. "Should I play golf, or go to the Bahamas...?" -a tough call indeed. This assignment throws Sam into his own existential quandary about the absurdity of existence, until Kathlynne comes to the rescue with Music, sensation and nouvelle cuisine.
It all culminates in a savory stew of Art, Beauty, Dance, Food and Love.
The magazine arrives on the stands a month later as S and K are working at the Mall for the Christmas season, drawing caricatures of the holiday shoppers.
Won't you join them and enjoy all the sumptuous details of daily life this culture has to offer in modern America?
(...such as esteemed alternative cartoonists, Seth, Ivan Brunetti, Daniel Clowes and Chris Ware, and the breathtaking caricatures of Sebastian Kruger, Daniel Adel, Jan Op De Beeck and the great Chris Wahl)

A Young Man With a Horn, Corbett Vanoni is taking it to the street in L. A. during rush hour armed with nothing more than a trombone, a smile and a voracious lust to improvise some Bebop Jazz to the commuters as they stumble home; to harmonize with the cacophony of sirens, car horns and Road Rage in the west coast metropolis.
Share Vanoni's Lush Life as he encounter's a classic Angelino Show Biz insider who blows his stack having to listen to some Slide trombone as he takes on a power conference call on his Cell Phone. Played with volcanic fury by comic actor and stand up comedian Estel Walker, his archetypal movie industry whore is a wonder to behold.
Join Corbett on the corner of Ventura and Hell (Sepulveda, by the Galleria Mall in Sherman Oaks, California) for some revealing forays into the world of Street Jazz, New Orleans La, or LA style, be it bluesy, Fusion, swing, bop or Ska, he's all over it like a skateboarder on a gang banger.
When not sliding his Bone, Corbett can be seen doing the digital Tango on his blog: http://cvanoni.blogspot.com/ - where his "Artsy Fartsy Studios" produce some of the slyest linear illustrations in the San Fernando Valley. A Splendid Cartoonist, Caricature artist, computer wizard and comic actor, Vanoni is THIS close to erupting over the edges with any one of his multi-talents.

Caricature artist Sam Klemke draws young buck Basil of Coos Bay, Oregon for the holidays. This one is fairly mild compared to the outragously exxagerated caricatures that is the vogue in the National Caricaturist Network.
Basil seemed to like it. Human vanity never fails, especially when enhanced!

What's Sarabelle up to now? Why, it looks like she's attempting to speak French via her instructor, Caricature Artist Claude St-Onge of Quebec City Canada. Shot at the 1998 National Caricature Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, this footage shows just how important it is to enunciate your words, even if they are French.
Famous Canadian Caricaturist Claude has drawn faces in New Orleans, La. Paris, France and the Calgary Stampede for years with his colleagues Dean Lewis and Keith Sandulak. Currently he draws at the West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton Alberta Canada, and has done so for 15 years. Wouldn't you?
And poor Sarabelle will do just about anything to gain the favor of her tutor. Let's cut her some slack, shall we? She's got a contageous case of the giggles!

This Scene from the TV Movie of the Week, as ABC used to call them, "Pray for the Wildcats", starring Andy Griffith in one of his darkest roles as a Sadistic Biker, was pretty memorable in 1974 when it first aired. He clearly wanted show his acting chops after being typecast as Sherrif Taylor for so long. Also starring a milquetoast William Shatner as an executive with glasses, and the late Robert Reed in a naturalistic performance as his pal and the forgotten Marjoe Gortner as the requiste counterculture youth appears in this scene. Angie Dickenson was slumming in it also.

Pete Wehner was a brilliant talk show host and media personality in Denver in the 1980's.
Pete Wehner was a brilliant talk show host and media personality in Denver in the 1980's. He worked for years for the biggest station in the Rockies, KOA 850AM and the PBS TV station KRMA, channel 6. It's hard to convey how prominent and high profile he was with his morning radio show "Contact AM", which, along with Gary Tessler's "Contact PM", informed and entertained millions all over the western U.S. This video is from 1985, a local show called "Options" which addressed the needs of senior citizens. Meals on Wheels is the subject here. Although this six foot five inch pipe smoker was witty and urbane, he was extremely civil and genteel. He put all his callers at ease; something tragically missing in the rancid talk-radio climate of today.
Pete is (was?) a fine Jazz pianist, a playwright and a political activist, among many talents. As a big fan of his and regular caller, I often wonder where he is now and why he never moved up in the broadcast industry.
Alas, Google searches provide nothing. If anyone in the Youtube universe knows whatever happened to him, Please comment... We'd love to know. Your voice of wisdom, humor, kindness, and restraint is missed and greatly needed now, Pete. -Sam Klemke
