ACTIVISM
In the early days of Rock n Roll certain bands rose above the rest because they sang about truly important social issues. Issues that would make people cry inside and would have us do anything to prevent these problems from happening in the future.
The Rolling Stones were one of those bands, and they still are :)
In this video, Mick Jagger sings out strongly against a police shooting where a youth is killed.
Mick also sings out against child prostitution which sometimes takes the life of the girls involved. A London-based child group reports the average life span of a child involved in prostitution is 7 years (usually dying from overdose). It's hard to get out of without proper guidance.
The tragic tale of a child pulled into prostitution who then died of a drug overdose caused Mick Jagger to point with vengeance at the men who get girls involved in this.
I told a black friend of mine, when he drives into the dangerous section of Asbury Park where the hookers are, if he sees some guy saying he wants to buy a child, just tell me and I'll throw a concrete block through the guy's windshield.
Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones takes things even further by saying he would "tear the guy's world apart".
And Mick Jagger could do it. His band made over $1.5 billion since 1989 (yes that's billion, not million).
So, for any guys out there wondering what's off limits when it comes to sex, don't even think about turning a child into a prostitute. There are guys out there like Mick Jagger who cry and cry inside, and they'll tear your whole world apart.
And I'm backing Mick Jagger up 100%.
This is the power of love that rock stars have, it is an unconditional love for all people.
For young guys who don't know this yet, rock stars are in the business of saving lives. Everything in their music is about love and the protection of life.
The message is always to protect life and promote happiness, love and friendship. Always being opposed to violence or suicide.
Lyrics to Heartbreaker ----------------------
The police in New York City
They chased a boy right through the park
And in a case of mistaken identity
The put a bullet through his heart
Heart breakers, with your forty four
I wanna tear your world apart
You heart breaker, with your forty four
I wanna tear your world apart
A ten year old girl on a street corner
Sticking needles in her arm
She died in the dirt of an alleyway
Her mother said she had no chance, no chance!
Heart breaker, heart breaker
She stuck the pins right in her heart
Heart breaker, pain maker
Stole the love right out of your heart
Heart breaker, heart breaker
You stole the love right out of my heart
Heart breaker, heart breaker
I wanna tear your world apart
Doo, doo doo doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo.

"One of Us" is a song written by Eric Bazilian (of The Hooters) and originally released by Joan Osborne.
The song deals with various aspects of belief in God by asking questions inviting the listener to consider how they might relate to God, such as "Would you call [God's name] to his face?" or "Would you want to see [God's face] if seeing meant that you would have to believe?" The name of the song comes from the question contained in the refrain, "What if God was one of us?"
Released in March 1995 on the album Relish (produced by Rick Chertoff), it hit the top 40 in November of the same year. With this song, Osborne received one of many Grammy nominations in 1995, including Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, but failed to win. One year later Prince covered the song for his 'Emancipation' LP.
Around January 1996, "One of Us" hit the top 10. Finally in March of 1996 "One of Us" climbed to #1 on Rock On The Net's ARC Weekly Top 40 and stayed there for 2 weeks. Its peak chart position on the Billboard Hot 100 was #4.

Hey Diggers! Here's a little Digg love from me to you :)
Come see the public debut of "Gotta Digg" at my show on Thursday December 27th in Los Angeles! It's at The Mint, 7:50PM, $8 cover, 21+. I would love to see fellow diggers there!
I'm a finalist in Doritos' Crash the Super Bowl Contest and could get my music video played during the Super Bowl and a record deal with Interscope. I need your help!

Lyrics: When I'm feeling lazy, at school or when I work I sneak to my computer, and then I like to shirk I don't go online shopping, I don't email with my mom I open up my browser, and go to digg-dot-com
Chorus: Gotta digg, gotta digg, gotta digg Gotta make this story big! Did you hear that awful sound? Another server's down!
I always dig up Apple, and I bury Microsoft But when I said I was a girl, all the diggers scoffed And when I see those stories about Senator Ron Paul I don't even RTFA; I just digg them all!
Chorus: Gotta digg, gotta digg, gotta digg Gotta make this story big! Did you hear that awful sound? Another server's down!
The fanboys can be tiresome, they always are outspoken And if you're listening Kevin Rose, the comment system's broken! I know digg isn't perfect, but be thankful for what we've got It's just like daddy always says: "At least it's not Slashdot!!!" Chorus: Gotta digg, gotta digg, gotta digg Gotta make this story big! Did you hear that awful sound? Another server's down!
------- Chords To "Gotta Digg" VERY simple. D C G A D C G A D C G A forever and ever and ever....
I'd double check what fret I did it on, but I'm not around my guitar. I'm pretty sure it was standard, but I am a big capo user, so it's possible I threw it on some fret?
Happy playing!!
