Well, consider this. I read a statistic in the past and I believe it stated the wealthiest 1% owns 90% of the wealth in America; plenty of money for a small number of people. If the government could provide some way to take that 90% and bring it down even a small margin down, we will see less disparity in wages, and maybe even a functioning economy since everyone will have more buying power (while the tops retain theirs).

When I say reducing disparity, I'm thinking of things to make people more equal but in a way that the harder workers and the people that actually deserve a little more do get that little bit. This ties in with a concept brought up in my health ed class where studies have shown that the greater the disparity among wages, the less healthy people are as a whole, hence why the US isn't even in the top 10 right now. Also, with less disparity among wages, universal healthcare would probably be a step closer. I'd like to speculate on that.

I've only recently gotten into the political game, so I'm still unsure of what to call myself. I've been called liberal, but mostly because of my support for the No on Prop 8 campaign in California. I know for a fact I'm not conservative because I do feel that progress is essential to a steady economy, and that worldwide progress and cooperation is optimal to the best outcome. However, as they say, you can't please them all. Best thing we can do is try to achieve that progress. First step, reducing disparity.

When I say he befriended a terrorist, I'm referring to the talk of his ties to Weather Underground, which is what people are referring to. I do agree though that some of the things said by the McCain campaign have immensely contributed to Obama's success.
