I liked your point on the extrapolation of data. That needs to be put out any time people start talking in the millions of years and exact readings. lol

Your comment about the coldest places on earth being the most barren and lifeless, is totally inaccurate. The north and south pole may have the smaller amount, if you total the amount of species, and compare them to more tropical areas. Although for abundance of these species the colder regions the north and south poles are unmatched and are some of richest biomes on planet Earth. Try Googlinig ice algae, krill, psychrophile or even the Alaskan fisheries harvest each year. The species that adapted to these climates cold climates have done extremely well.
Some of the most barren places actually are in the mid Atlantic and Pacific Ocean bottoms. Minus the thermal vent areas. |
