Jakeem "Big Cheese" Johnson started his musical career with a pencil, a penny and a table. Anything he can beat on, he would make a nice beat and freestyle to it. Started at the age of 5. The only thing that takes him through another day is to write poetry, write about the struggle, draw a crowd and entertain, and sing a melody. At the age of 11, he wrote his first song and recorded over a boom box. Since then he knew he was able to do anything with music. Through school, he joined chorus, band, step team and ezperanza to be in the rhythm of anything that has to do with music. Known for his talented mind, he soon started making little songs. At first people didnt really feel his music so he gave up on rapping. He chose to produce. He made beats for local artist such as Junior, J-dogg, Zally and also himself. In 2003 He felt like all was lost when his brother was shot and friend was killed. His brother is paralyzed waist down till this day. He decided to write again. Making beats was only his secondary, for which he got back to doin what he loves the most, Rapping. Since 2005, Big Cheese has been making mixes on other tracks. Getting his writing skills better and better. He brought out a mixtape March 21st 2007 Called Mix Mastered, Which became popular around the local area. Doing almost 3 shows a month and bringing a big crowd with him, hes known to rock the crowd. Even though he talks about material things, to him he raps about it, but its just in his imagination until he can really get it. Very versatile, he can rap on any track. any beat. Hoping for a chance in the music industry, he continues to do his mixes and music until he has that chance.
