The information below is based on the prior model to what was presented at the 2008 New York Auto Show. The 2010 North American 6-seater sedan model (looks like a regular car) gets 800-1000 miles on an 8 gallon tank of fuel @ 90+ mph, or 100+ miles of local driving on air only. All the Catvolution web information will have to be updated.

Guy Negre of MDI Air Car engine that runs on compressed air. Emissions are only filtered air that's cleaner than outside air. 300 bars of pressure in carbon-fibre & kevlar air tanks.

Pollution free vehicle that produces zero emissions. When the car stops at traffic lights, the engine stops so no energy is lost because there's no idling.

No, I'm pretty sure it isn't a Sterling engine. the fuel is used to heat the air before it goes into the engine.

metal tanks explode in a dangerous way, these are carbon fiber / kevlar tanks that just split open instead of shattering.

Hmm So what happened to the e.volution which looks IDENTICAL to the one in these videos that was launched in late 2000 in South Africa? Helen brown the licence (there's that word again) purchaser was going to be churning them out by 2002.

Catvolution.com visited MDI.lu in Nice, France. I wanted to see the air cars for myself and clear up some of the internet confusion that people have about these vehicles. There are interviews and activities that will be added asap.

Please note that I signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement and I cannot (and will not) leak any information that MDI has determined off-limits. So if I don't answer a question that falls in that category, don't get mad at me.

Air Car by Guy Negre, as mentioned in the news. 11 Vídeos
Guy Negre of MDI Air Car engine that runs on compressed air. Emissions are only filtered air that's cleaner than outside air. 300 bars of pressure in carbon-fibre & kevlar air tanks. Car can travel at 110 km/hr and has a 150 km driving range. Refilling can be done by plugging in at home or at a special high-pressure air station. Dual-energy models use small amounts of bio-fuels that can extend the range to over 1400 kms.
